Absolutely a first class physiotherapy and acupuncture clinic. I and many of my family members both younger and older have attended over the years for help with sports injuries, post surgery rehab and assorted age related wear and tear issues. We all have felt the benefit of both Judy and Sandra’s tremendous expertise and advice. I highly recommend these professional, skilled, knowledgeable and welcoming practitioners.
I'm so grateful to Sandra for taking good care of my running injuries and enabling me to run not once but 3 half marathons in 4 months! Full story: I was what's called a "couch potato" back in October 2023, right after turning 43. According to my scale, I had passed the threshold of obesity. In mid October, I decided it was time to fix this and I've started a combination of diet and running (all self-managed). In two weeks, I was jogging 10km. In other two, I was running 15km. Another two weeks later I went to Sandra with my first injury, the infamous runner's knee. She gave me strength training exercises and adjusted my training strategy, as I told her I set the Wicklow Half Marathon (March 24th, i.e. 5 months after starting my training), which according to my watch has a 240m of elevation gain. Fast forward to February, as I kept over-training (my fault), I went to her with 4 different injuries this time. I was stubborn, my mind had to reach closure with that particular half marathon, so she adjusted again exercises and training plan. I completed the half marathon in 2:28:50 (I had a target of under 2:30), after having lost 13kg, and while carrying only the last one of those injuries. Two weeks later I went for another assessment, and she adjusted the exercises based on my form. This time I took it easier, and in no time I was injury free. I ran my second half marathon - injury free! - on July 6th in 2:18:28, and, although this was a flat one, 4km were done against a 28km/h wind. This was 4 days ago. I felt I could do better. Yesterday I left a change of clothes at my office, and this morning I run another half marathon without even pushing it, keeping my heart rate 10 beats lower than on Saturday, and I did a personal best of 2:15:53, though with wind on my back! Although I still need to work on my weight loss, I feel energetic, and, thanks to Sandra's attention, I feel my body can now take whatever I throw at it! :) thanks, I'll be forever grateful for enabling all of this!
I cannot recommend highly enough. Sandra has helped me hugely to repair a longstanding rotator cuff injury. The place is well equipped, staff are lovely and the experience they bring to customers is second to none.
I run a good bit, while I was n’t actually injured I made an appointment as I’d a few niggles including my glutes. I was examined by Sandra Kelly. She gave me four exercises, told me to repeat them daily and then I’d hopefully be able to run whatever marathon I’d lined up ten weeks later. It worked, she was excellent, very realistic. I only went to her the once which I liked as she’s not going to keep clients going back unless they required it.
I have been attending Judy for the last few months. I find her very good and she has so much experience and knowledge. She is friendly, kind, helpful and she always finds a suitable program for me. I would highly recommend Castleknock Physiotherapy and Acupuncture Clinic.
